​Ferry Ramp & Vessel Improvements
Federal Ferry funds with 20% matching Marion County funds will be used to complete these improvements.
At the Wheatland Ferry site, a maximum 40-day Ferry closure is allowed to complete:
- Widening and repairing the concrete ramps;
- Installing dolphins;
- Installing additional catwalks at each tower;
- Installing new hatch covers and lighting;
- Installing a backup generator; and
- Installing linear actuators that will lift the aprons.
At the Buena Vista Ferry site, a maximum 3-day Ferry closure is allowed to complete:
- Installing a backup generator; and
- Installing linear actuators that will lift the aprons.
The ferry sites are shown on the map below.
A contract has been awarded to Legacy Contracting for this work which is expected to be complete by May 31st.
