Auburn Elementary Safe Routes To School
Marion County has received Safe Routes To School Program funding to construct a high visibility pedestrian crossing on Center Street between Tierra Drive and Citation Drive with enhanced safety measures including a Rectangular Rapid Flashing Beacon (RRFB), pedestrian refuge island, street lighting, high visibility signing, and pavement markings.
Due to its location and the nature of the improvement, this project has been combined with a Center Street sidewalk project which is planned for construction in 2026.
Funding
The total project cost (including engineering and right-of-way) is estimated at $200,000 and is funded by the Safe Routes To School Program with a required contribution by Marion County.
