Summary of Services
Our Adult Outpatient Program (AOP) helps adults in Marion County who have serious mental health illnesses. Most people in AOP have illnesses like Schizophrenia, Schizoaffective, Bi-Polar, Major Depressive Disorder, Posttraumatic Stress, or other brain and thinking problems.
We listen, care, and work with each person. We help people learn skills, get support, and find help in the community. We want people to live as on-their-own as possible.
AOP offers many services:
- Mental Health Assessments and treatment planning
- One-on-one (individual) therapy
- Group therapy
- Prescribers who can give mental heatlh medicine
- Skills training for daily life
- Case managers who help connect people to services
- Help working with other doctors and helpers (coordination of care)
- Peer support from people with similar life stories
- Help finding and keeping a job (supported employment)
- Help with school and training (supported education)
- Consutlation and advice for other helpers and programs
Our Qualified Mental Health Associates - QMHAs (therapists) help people get the services they need. They:
- Help people find medical, social, school, and other services
- Coordinate care so services work well together
- Help people move safely between different levels of care
- Talk with other providers to keep everyone on the same page
Peer Support ServicesOur Peer Support Specialists have their own stories of mental health recovery. They:
- Use their lived experience to give hope and show that recovery is possible
- Offer support and encouragement
- Share their own stories to help others feel less alone
Skills TrainingQualified Mental Health Associates - QMHAs (therapists) teach people skills for daily life and living in the community. They help people learn how to:
- Clean and take care of their home
- Make a budget and pay bills
- Shop for groceries and prepare meals
- Take care of their health
- Speak up and advocate for themselves
- And more skills to help people live more independently
Eligibility for Enrollment
Who Can Enroll
You can enroll in our program if all of these are true:
- You have Medicaid, Medicare, or you have very low income and cannot pay for services
- You are 18 years or older
- You have a serious and ongoing mental health condition that makes daily life hard
You may be able to enroll if you have one of these conditions:
- Schizophrenia
- Schizoaffective Disorder
- Bipolar Disorder
And one of these is also true:
- You stayed in a psychiatric hospital at least one time in your life, or
- You lived in a mental health residential program for two months or longer
You may also be able to enroll if you have one of these conditions:
- Major Depressive Disorder (very serious depression)
- Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD)
- Posttraumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)
- Borderline Personality Disorder
- Schizotypal Personality Disorder
And one of these is also true:
- A judge ordered you to get mental health treatment and you went to Oregon State Hospital (OSH)
- A judge ordered you to get treatment and you were sent to OSH or could be sent there if you do not get treatment
- A legal guardian agreed for you to go to Oregon State Hospital
- You live in a licensed care home in Oregon
- The Oregon Health Authority says you should be in this program
