Summary of Services
Our Housing Navigation program assists families in finding and maintaining safe and affordable housing based on the family's needs. Our team assists participants in gaining independence by providing individualized creative solutions to reduce barriers to services and resources.
The Housing Navigation program provides services for families with Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF), those involved with ODHS Child Welfare, and individuals in service with Marion County Health & Human Services.
Support Services and Expectations
In addition to helping families and individuals in service in finding affordable housing, our Housing Navigation program assists participants in gaining independence. A Housing Navigator works with the participant and provides support through:
- Case management
- Housing requisition
- Connection to resources
- Working with property managers to facilitate leases/contracts
- Tenant education
- Connection to home ownership programs
Program participants are asked to be actively involved in the Housing Navigation program. This includes:
- Attending appointments with Housing Navigator
- Responding to calls from Housing Navigation program staff within 24 hours
- Developing a positive and respectful partnership with Housing Navigation program staff
- Assisting Housing Navigation program staff by actively participating in housing search
