New Volunteer Opportunities
Volunteerism plays an important role here at Marion County, helping to build our relationship with citizens while building our capacity to deliver important services and supports. We are fortunate as we benefit from a community committed to civic engagement, and many volunteers make significant contribution in time, energy and expertise.

Spotlight on a current volunteer opportunities:
As a member of the Compensation Board you'll meet 2-3 times a year to review and recommend salaries for the county's nine elected officials, including the Assessor, County Clerk, District Attorney, Sheriff, Treasurer, Justice of the Peace and three Commissioners. Members of the Compensation Board serve a one-year term with potential for re-appointment to additional terms. Those applying for the board must be knowledgeable in the areas of personnel and compensation management and must reside or work in Marion County. Individuals employed by the county are not eligible to serve on the Compensation Board. Once selected, board members will attend an orientation session on the responsibilities of this board. To be considered for a position on the 2025 Compensation Board complete the Advisory Board Application and submit no later than 11:59pm, Friday, January 31, 2025.
