Household Hazardous Waste

Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) is accepted free of charge from non-business residents of Marion County. Please bring your household hazardous materials in the original retail containers with good fitting lids. ​ If original container is not available, place in resealable container (milk jug, water jug, 5 gallon bucket w/ lid). 55 gallon drums will not be accepted. Please place materials into a box to keep materials from tipping over and spilling during transit.  ​

Residents with containers of hazardous waste materials larger than 5 gallons or multiple containers of any one substance must receive approval from Marion County prior to delivery at the Household Hazardous Waste Collection Facility (HHW).  55 gallon drums will not be accepted.

Alternatives to household hazardous waste flyer

Business Hazardous Waste is also accepted at the HHW. Hazardous Waste from small businesses or Conditionally Exempt Small Quantity Generators (CESQG) can use the facility; however they will be charged by the pound of hazardous waste.

In order to participate, businesses must pre-register with the County's hazardous waste contractor by completing the Application Form or Conditionally Exempt Hazardous Waste Generators and mail, fax, or e-mail the completed application within 2 weeks of the scheduled delivery date. Fees are charged based on the type and amount of waste accepted in accordance with the Waste Pricing.
