The Marion County Fair kicks off this Friday (that's tomorrow!). While we're not quite back to normal, there will be plenty of family fun. Don't miss carnival rides, fun activities to win prizes, and live music on the main stage daily.
The annual county fair runs July 9-11, 2021, at the Oregon State Fairgrounds. The fair is open 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday. Admission at the gate is $9 for adults (12 & over); $5 for youth (ages 6-11); $5 for seniors (62 & older); and free for youth ages 5 and under. Sunday is Family Fun Day with free admission for youth 11 and under all day. The carnival opens at 11 a.m. each day and parking is free.
This year, the barns will look a little different with featured animals each day. Look for swine and rabbits on Friday; llamas and the livestock auction on Saturday; and dairy goats, dairy cows, and horses on Sunday. Saturday is Ag Day highlighting 4-H, FFA, animal viewing and contests.
On Friday, the Marion County Board of Commissioners will honor first responders who selflessly helped evacuate the Santiam Canyon during the 2020 wildfires. The public is welcome to join us at 4:30 p.m. on the main stage for this special ceremony.
Sunday features Family Fun Day with strolling superheroes, Disney princesses, and other fun characters. There will be family friendly entertainment on the main stage all day and a car show from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. in the picnic grove. Don't miss the popular Lego Live competitions in Columbia Hall.
We're pleased to welcome returning family favorites such as Barnyard Adventures, Puzzlemania, and Brad's World of Reptiles. And what would the annual fair be without great food? This year food vendors include Golden Grill Yakisoba, Crush Coffee, Gimme Some Sugar, Bob's, La Patrona, Lemons on the Loose, the Dog House, The Wurst Food Cart, and everyone's favorite Marion County Dairy Women ice cream. There's truly something for everyone.
