Today, the Marion Board of Commissioners selected Raquel Moore-Green to fill the current vacancy for State Representative in House District 19. Ms. Moore-Green was among three candidates nominated by the Oregon Republican Party to fill the position.
Three nominees were interviewed in a special board session this morning that also included Becky Mitts and Brad Nanke.
Commissioner Kevin Cameron, chair, said, "There was broad support from the diverse constituents of House District 19 for all three nominees and each would have represented their community well. Ms. Moore-Green's wide ranging service from the non-profit to business communities, and city volunteer experience helped her standout in this process. She has served and supported the residents of House District 19 since 2010 and she will continue that good work."
