Salem, OR –Portland and Western Railroad will begin a tie replacement project on Monday, April 24, that will begin at Salem and progress north into Clackamas County. As part of this work, the railroad will replace the timber crossings at Keene Road NE, Le Brun Road NE, and Wiseacre Lane NE with asphalt crossings.
Each crossing replacement will require a one day road closure from 7:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Detour routes will be established on all roads except Wiseacre Lane, and no vehicular access across the tracks will be available during the closures. The exact closure dates are not known at this time and are dependent upon the progress made by the tie crew.
Marion County will monitor the work and provide exact closure dates as those dates become available. If you have questions, please contact Bill Brownlee (Monday through Wednesday) or Eric Anderson at 503-588-5036.
