    Posted by: Public Works

SALEM, OR - On December 3, 2019, Marion County Public Works will hold a public meeting to update the public about the Hayesville Drive Bicycle and Pedestrian Improvements Project. The meeting will be held from 6:30-7:30 p.m. at Adams Stephens Middle School at 4962 Hayesville Drive NE, Salem, Oregon.

The county has received federal funding to improve the Hayesville Drive corridor, which will include widening Hayesville Drive to accommodate bike lanes, constructing missing sidewalk sections and sidewalk ramps that meet ADA standards, and improving the stormwater system within the roadway.  Once construction is completed the road will receive an asphalt overlay from Fuhrer Street to Portland Road.

Marion County Public Works will provide preliminary project information and answer questions regarding the upcoming project. Discussion topics will include:

    • Project Milestones
    • Construction Plans
    • Phased Construction Schedule
    • Lane Closures and Detours
    • Temporary Traffic Control

Construction is tentatively expected to begin in the winter/spring of 2022 and be completed in the spring/summer of 2023. Construction will be phased to minimize disruptions.

If you are unable to attend but have questions about the project, please contact Shane Ottosen Jr. at 503-588-5036 or email SOttosen@co.marion.or.us.

The facility is handicap accessible.  If you require special accommodations, please contact Tina Powell at 503-588-5036 a minimum of two work days prior to the meeting.
