​On August 17, 2016, Marion County Public Works will begin chip sealing Silverton Road from the City of Silverton to the Public Works campus, near the intersection with Cordon Road.

This chip seal application process will take 4-5 days and then county crews will top the road with a fog seal, which will lock down the rock and smooth the road a bit.

To avoid traffic delays (which could be as long as 20 minutes) motorists are asked to use Hazelgreen Road as an alternative route until September 1.
