Cadet Unit
Mission: To help youth leaders become familiar with the law enforcement profession, responsibility, teamwork and leadership skills.
We are very proud of the Cadet Unit which is a great asset and resource to the Marion County Sheriff's Office. This Unit is comprised of youth, ages 14 1/2 to 21. The members are selected after completing a written test, an oral interview process and a thorough background investigation. Cadets must successfully complete the Sheriff's Office Cadet Academy, which are full day trainings on Saturdays, from January through March. Cadets must commit a minimum of twenty (20) hours per month to the program and attend monthly meetings.
