Ride-Along
A ride-along gives members of the public an
opportunity to see firsthand the services the Sheriff’s
Office provides and gives insight to people considering a career with the
Marion County Sheriff's Office. If you are interested in going on a
ride-along, you must fill out a Civilian Observer Application. You may
download the application here or pick one up at any of the locations listed below.
NOTE: Sheriff's Office staff must observe the applicant or parent/guardian sign the application, please do not sign prior to turning in the application.
Completed forms can be turned in at the following locations:
- Administrative Office (100 High St. NE in Salem)
- Jail Visiting (4000 Aumsville Hwy SE, Salem)
- Public Safety Building (3160 Aumsville Hwy SE, Salem)
You will be contacted with a time and date when your background check is complete.
If there are times and dates when you cannot be scheduled, please note them on a separate sheet of paper. We will do our best to accommodate you.
