Hazelgreen Road NE: Pudding River Bridge Replacement and Roadway Improvements
Marion County has received federal funding to replace the old timber pile bridge (Br #5387) over the Pudding River on Hazelgreen Rd NE.
The current bridge is narrow and the timber deck and substructure require constant maintenance due to timber decay and traffic impacts. Constructed in 1969, the bridge has inadequate width, barrier rail and approach rail, so will be replaced with a new concrete bridge meeting current standards.
The new bridge will be constructed on the existing alignment and a traffic detour will be in place during construction.
Schedule
Construction is expected to begin in the summer of 2024 and be completed in the spring of 2025.
Funding
Federal Aid Surface Transportation funds along with County matching funds are being utilized to construct the upgrades. The total project cost is estimated to be $6,848,000 which includes engineering, right of way and construction.
