How to Dispose of Animal Remains
On Your Property:
If a wild or domestic animal dies on your property, please follow guidelines on how to properly dispose of it. Animals weighing less than 60 pounds can be enclosed in a large plastic bag that is tied shut and taken to the North Marion Recycling & Transfer Station. The fee for this is $25. Call (503) 588-5169 to find out more information. Small animals may also be bagged and placed in your curbside garbage cart.
Coffin Butte Landfill near Adair Village may be another good choice. Please call first to find out their guidelines for accepting animal remains, fees, and other specific information. Coffin Butte Landfill can be reached at (541) 745-5792.
In the County Right-of-Way:
If a wild or domestic animal is found dead in the County right-of-way, please call (503) 588-5304 to have it picked up by the county road crew.
