Paid Holidays
The following days are recognized and observed as paid holidays for regular and trial service employees working 50% or more. (Part-time employees working 50% or more accrue these holidays proportionate with the percent of time worked.)
- New Year’s Day
- Martin Luther King’s Birthday
- President’s Day
- Memorial Day
- Juneteenth
- Independence Day (4th of July)
- Labor Day
- Veteran’s Day
- Thanksgiving Day
- Christmas Day
(Several collective bargaining agreements provide for the day after Thanksgiving as an additional holiday as well.)
Personal Holidays
Regular full-time employees and part-time employees working 50% or more are entitled from 1 to 2 personal holidays (depending on the collective bargaining agreement). Part-time employees working 50% or more accrue this holiday proportionate with the percent of time worked.
Vacation
Regular full-time employees and part-time employees working 50% or more accrue vacation leave each pay period. Employees working 50% or more will accrue vacation leave proportionate with the percent of time worked. Employees should attempt to accrue as much vacation leave as possible to prevent loss of income due to illness or injury. The Payroll Specialist will provide additional information on this topic.
Sick Leave
Regular full-time employees and part-time employees working 50% or more accrue sick leave each pay period. Employees working 50% or more will accrue sick leave proportionate with the percent of time worked. Employees should attempt to accrue as much sick leave as possible to prevent loss of income due to illness or injury. The Payroll Specialist will provide additional information on this topic.
