Bed & Breakfast
A Bed & Breakfast Facility is defined as any establishment located in a structure designed for a single family residence and structures appurtenant thereto, regardless of whether the owner or operator of the establishment resides in any of the structures, which:
(a) Has more than two rooms for rent on a daily basis to the public;
(b) Offers a breakfast meal as part of the cost of the room;
(c) Serves one breakfast meal a day to guests, staff and owners, only.
Marion County Environmental Health licenses Bed & Breakfast facilities and inspects them semi-annually to verify compliance with
Oregon Administrative Rules, Chapter 333 - Division 170 .
Traveler's Accommodations
A Travelers' Accomodation is defined as any establishment, which is not a hostel, having rooms, apartments or sleeping facilities rented or kept for rent on a daily or weekly basis to travelers or transients for a charge or fee paid or to be paid for rental or use of facilites.
Marion County Environmental Health licenses travelers' accommodations annually and inspects them semi-annually to verify compliance with
Oregon Administrative Rules, Chapter 333 - Division 029 .

Org Camps
An Organizational Camp is defined as any facility operating for recreational use by groups or organizations. Organizational Camps include, but are not limited to, youth camps, scout camps, summer camps, day camps, nature camps, science camps, survival camps, athletic camps, camps operated and maintained under the guidance, supervision or auspices of religious, public and private educational systems and community service organizations or other persons or organizations whether for-profit or non-profit.
Organizational camps are distinguished from recreation parks, or hotels and motels by the existence of organized group activities comprising the majority of activities by all participants rather than individual or family recreation. Camps operating less than one week per year are excluded from these rules unless they have permanent structures or operate as a "day camp."
Marion County Environmental Health licenses and inspects organizational camps to verify compliance with
Oregon Administrative Rules, Chapter 333 - Division 030 .
Recreation Parks
A Recreation Park is defined as any area designated by the person establishing, operating, managing or maintaining the same for picnicking or overnight camping by the general public or any segment of the public. "Recreation park" includes but is not limited to area open to use free of charge or through payment of a tax or fee or by virtue of rental, lease, license, membership, association or common ownership and further includes, but is not limited to those areas divided into two or more lots, parcels, units or other interests for purposes of such use. "Recreation park" excludes sites that have units for human occupancy permanently affixed thereto but includes an area that has camping spaces available to be moved onto for transitory use.

Oregon Administrative Rules, Chapter 333 - Division 031 .
Swimming Pools
Environmental Health issues licenses and inspects public pools and spas in Marion County. We provide plan reviews and construction inspections for approval of new or alterations of public pools using Oregon Administrative Rules.
The major focus of swimming pool inspections is on pool supervision, lifeguard requirements, lifesaving equipment and its use. General pool safety provisions, chemical treatment, and the proper operation of filtration equipment and maintenance of such facilities are also closely examined.
