Today (Tuesday, April 7), the Oregon Health Authority reported 49 new cases of COVID-19 in Oregon, bringing the statewide total to 1,181. The announcement included 6 new cases in Marion County, bringing the total number of confirmed cases in our community to 215. Sadly, the announcement included reports of three deaths of Marion County residents. Marion County's seventh death was an 83-year-old female who tested positive on March 28 and passed away on April 5 at Legacy Meridian Park Medical Center. The eighth death of a Marion County resident was a 98-year-old woman who tested positive on April 1 and passed away on April 5 at her residence. The ninth death of one of our community members was a 71-year-old woman who tested positive on March 30 and passed away on April 2 at her residence. All three women had underlying medical conditions. Our thoughts are with their families and friends during this difficult time. The following demographic information was reported later than OHA's report, therefore the numbers below are higher than those reported by OHA.
