As the Local Public Health Authority (LPHA), Marion County Health and Human Services plays an important role in responding to any reports of infectious disease. We are working closely with health care providers throughout the county to ensure they are aware of the signs and symptoms and understand the screening guidelines to follow.
In the case of COVID-19, we are taking guidance from the Oregon Health Authority to ensure our providers are aware of the investigative guidelines related to the virus. We participate in regular conference calls between OHA and other LPHAs to stay up to date with the current status of the virus in the United States and to coordinate messaging to ensure communities throughout Oregon are all provided with the same accurate and up-to-date information.
Three cases of novel coronavirus have been identified in Oregon. There are currently no cases of COVID-19 in Marion County and the general risk to the public remains low. Marion County will continue to prepare and monitor the situation so we are ready if the situation changes.
For general information about the novel coronavirus, please call 211.
More information about COVID-19 (Novel Coronavirus) is available on the Marion County Health Department website.
