Paving on South Abiqua Road and Abiqua Road

    Posted by: Public Works

SILVERTON, OR – A contractor working for Marion County Public Works began pavement repairs on South Abiqua Road, from 1,100 feet east of Davis Creek Road to Abiqua Road on Friday, June 23, 2017.  The contractor will resurface South Abiqua Road and Abiqua Road from South Abiqua Road to Briar Knob Loop, and from 180 feet south of the steel bridge to Milk Ranch Road, from June 26 through July 7.

These road segments will be chip sealed later this summer by Marion County operations crews to complete the resurfacing treatment, which will restore the road surface and prevent more costly pavement repairs in the future.

The resurfacing work will be performed 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on weekdays.  The construction zone will be restricted to one bi-directional travel lane controlled by flaggers and pilot cars.

Variable message signs and fixed signs will be located at the project limits to alert road users of the project.  Motorists are advised to exercise caution when traveling through the work zone.

For additional information, contact Chuck Williams, Project Inspector, or Dave Chamness, Project Engineer at (503) 588-5036.
