Marion County Planning is here to help get you through the process, deal with regulations and find solutions or alternatives when issues arise. We have staff who can help you from beginning to end. Think of us as your project manager for Marion County!
Our team focuses on customer service by:
clearly communicating the process
issuing most decisions (excluding those requiring a hearing) within 30 days
hearings scheduled within 4-5 weeks; appeals within 2-3 weeks;
responding to telephone calls and emails within 24 hours
having a planner available each day from 8-5 - no appointment necessary!
Have a problem or concern?
Whether you're a property owner with a pending land use case, a concerned neighbor, or appealing a land use decision, Planning staff is here to provide assistance. The land use planning process can be intimidating, but we're not! And we don't "take sides" in an appealed land use case - staff will gladly help anyone participating in our land use process. We understand neighbors can often have different points of view that need to be respected. Our goal is to listen and consider all of the views and interests to help the decision-making body find the right course of action for serving the overall public good.
