Marion County has received funding to upgrade the signing for the Buena Vista and Wheatland ferries. The new signs will include solar powered LED "Closed" signs that will be remotely controlled to come on during ferry closures. The Project will replace all existing signs and will include additional signs for the Buena Vista Ferry along Highway 99W and I-5. The I-5 signs will not be automated, but will provide exit information for the Buena Vista Ferry. Automated closed signing will improve operational efficiency during necessary ferry closures and provide better information to the traveling public.
