Delaney Road : 3rd Street to 7th Street Sidewalks and Bike Lanes
The City of Turner received funding for transportation enhancements to Delaney Road. Marion County agreed to design the project, acquire right-of-way, and provide both Project and Construction Management services. In addition to these services, since it is a County road, Marion County funded an asphalt overlay of the project.
The Project completed a missing section of sidewalk and bike lanes on Delaney Road between 3rd Street and 7th Street in Turner. Construction included new six (6) foot wide sidewalk with curbs, storm drainage and bike lanes for approximately 900 feet on both sides of the street. The Project also included grading and surfacing at the existing railroad crossing to make it fully accessible for pedestrians and bicyclists.
Federal-Aid Surface Transportation Program Urban funds for design, Transportation Enhancement funds for construction, an approximately 10% City contribution, and Marion County Road funds for the final overlay.
Estimated Total Project Cost was $1.1M and included engineering, right-of-way, and construction.
